Villarreal B head coach, Miguel Álvarez, placed trust in his players ahead of a difficult trip to Alcoyano this weekend (Sunday, 12pm CET)

Miguel Álvarez has affirmed that this weekend’s game with Alcoyano (El Collao, 12pm CET) is of maximum difficulty, something that should serve as motivation for his young players: “Alcoyano are a very good side from the Segunda B, and that’s why they are where they are. They are good at all aspects of the game: from set pieces to direct football, so we will need to control the ball and try to stay calm so that we can do what we know how to do best. I have total faith in my players. I am sure that we’re going to play well, although we know it will be difficult. That can only be an incentive for the boys.”

With regards to the signing of Jack Harper, Miguel Álvarez shared his excitement with the arrival of the Spanish-Scottish forward: “I am very happy with the arrival of Harper. He seems to me an excellent footballer as well as a great person. For sure, through injuries and the departure of Kevin Soni, we were a bit short in terms of attacking options, so I think the Harper will serve us very well. He’s spent a week with us now and I’m very happy. He is a fantastic professional”.
