Hungry to rise to the challenge! Villarreal Women start the second stage of the Reto Iberdrola this Sunday at 12pm, against Femenino Cáceres. That is the first of eight exciting matches which will be decisive for Sara Monforte’s side in their dream of promotion to the top flight of women’s football.
The Yellows ended the first stage of the season as Southern Group B champions, with 41 points from 16 games, with a co-efficient of 2.563 points per game. Villarreal Women will now only face the best four teams from Southern Group A, playing a total of eight games.
At the end of these eight games, the team with the best coefficient will be the team promoted to the Liga Iberdrola. One team from the Southern Group and one from the Northern Group will be promoted.
