Yellows footballers Pau Torres, Raúl Albiol, Manu Trigueros and Dani Parejo have all passed the 2,000-minute mark for Villarreal CF in official games this season. The four players have become, through their own merit, vital footballers for head coach Unai Emery.

The player who has played the most minutes for Villarreal this season is Pau Torres (2,280), across a total of 25 games. Raúl Albiol, his partner at the centre of defence is just behind him, with 2,262 minutes in 25 matches.

Despite playing less minutes than their team-mates, Manu Trigueros (2,150) and Dani Parejo (2,114) are the players to have made the most appearances for the Submarine this season. Our No.14 has played a total of 31 games, while our No.5 has featured in 28 official matches in all competitions.

The Submarine’s backbone

Goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo, a regular starter in LaLiga, is another player who has featured a lot, totalling 1,980 minutes. Alfonso Pedraza’s game time also stands out. Thanks to his good form and versatility, he has played 1,800 minutes across 23 games.

Moi Gómez and Gerard Moreno are at a similar level too, but their injuries have stopped them from playing as many minutes as their team-mates. The attacking midfielder has played 1,775 minutes across 25 games, despite having missed a total of seven games through injury. The Catalan striker has played 1,551 minutes in 21 matches, having missed out on nine ties through muscle problems.
