A total of 25 players have been recognised for their long trajectory representing the Yellow Submarine
Villarreal CF celebrated this Thursday the traditional tribute to the players who celebrate a decade wearing the yellow shirt. A total of 25 of the club’s players received the traditional commemorative submarine from the hands of president Fernando Roig in a heartwarming ceremony that took place at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
The special event was also attended by Fernando Roig Negueroles, CEO, and Miguel Ángel Tena, Villarreal CF’s director of football.
The 25 players honoured for their 10 years at Villarreal CF were Mauro Bou (Juvenil Roda), Pau Moliner (Juvenil Roda), Rubén González (Juvenil C), Sergio Orzáez (Juvenil C), Mauro Tomás (Juvenil C), Marcos Aguilar (Juvenil C), Adrián Vivó (Cadete A), Manolo Rubert (Cadete B), Jordi González (Cadete B), Marc Soler (Cadete B), Nuria Penalba (Femenino B), Nuria Barrera (Femenino B), Paula Bea (Femenino C), as well as Iván Mengual, Nerea Gil, Eduard Stanciu, Mireia Martín, Oriol Mezquita, Juan Ramón Lara, David García, Andrés Sánchez-Cid, David Velasco, Miguel Ángel Archela, Víctor Boulouden and Alberto Gómez, from the different Villarreal CF EDI teams (teams with intellectual disabilities).
Tribute to a decade of the team with intellectual disabilities
This season, the tribute to a decade at Villarreal CF was marked by the important presence of 12 players from the team with intellectual disabilities (EDI). The programme celebrated ten years of existence this season after being integrated into the club’s sporting structure in the 2015/16 campaign, being one of the pioneering teams in Spanish football in promoting the sporting activity of this group with intellectual disabilities.
