The Yellows Academy survives the second cut to 77 footballers
Three Yellows Academy footballers have survived the second cut made by the Fútbol Draft 2019 Technical Committee as part of recognising the best national talent aged between 16 and 20.
Futbol Draft has revealed the 77 young promises who have survived the second cut and will try and win a place in this season’s Golden, Silver and Bronze XIs of Spanish youth football. Throughout 2019, Futbol Draft will have other committee sessions where they will cut the list 55 players, before choosing the aforementioned XIs.
The Technical Committee, which is presided over by former national-team selector Iñaki Sáez, also saw the presence of Javier Lasagabaster (CEO Futbol Draft®), Francis Hernández (RFEF national team co-ordinator), Luis de la Fuente (U21 selector), Santi Denia (U19 selector), David Gordo (U17 selector), Julen Guerrero (U16 selector), Jacinto Alonso (Federación Riojana president and RFEF board member), Miguel Hernández (AFE), Ángel Caballero (AEAF – Asociación Española Agentes Jugadores), Raúl Ojeda y Ricardo Resta (LaLiga), Vicente Miera (former Spain senior side selector), Nacho Silván, (youth football expert), Aritz Gabilondo (youth football expert) y Ana Rossell (women’s football expert).
These are the Yellows Academy players who are part of the 77 most promising young Spanish players:
- Left-sided centre-back: Pepe Castaño (Villarreal B, 1998).
- Right-sided central midfielder: Manu Morlanes (Villarreal B, 1999).
- Right-sided central midfielder: Carlos Beitia (Villarreal C, 2000).
