Villarreal CF’s prestigious tournament, which will be held from 17th to 20th April, will have 228 teams involved
The 2025 Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter is here! The prestigious youth football tournament organised by Villarreal CF at Easter will experience its most extensive edition from 17th to 20th April, with more than 20,000 people including players, coaches, family members and event staff. An impressive figure that highlights the relevance and impact of this sporting competition in the province of Castellón.
In 2025, the Yellow Cup Easter aims to hold a record-breaking edition. The first of these is that of participation, which has already been broken before it has even begun. Never before has the tournament had so many participants. A total of 228 teams from 75 clubs from all over the world will come together in our province to enjoy the best football.
Sports clubs from the United States, Canada, Colombia, Peru, Puerto Rico, Kuwait, Andorra and Romania will be heading to the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter this week to enjoy a festive, fun and exciting atmosphere. Meanwhile, on a domestic level, dozens of teams from Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country, Cantabria, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Navarre, La Rioja, Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia, Extremadura, Aragon and, of course, the Region of Valencia will represent their autonomous regions with the exciting aim of enjoying the experience to the full and leaving an indelible mark on the tournament.
Given the magnitude of the Yellow Cup Easter, participating players and coaches will have the opportunity to enjoy a total of ten venues in four different cities in our province. Vila-real will have four venues: José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground, Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa Cerámica, CEM Pau Francisco Torres and Fundación Flors. Although the tournament will also be played in Benicàssim, in Torre San Vicente, La Carrerassa and Intursport, in Les Alqueries, in its municipal pitch; and in Almassora; both in the José Manuel Pesudo and Les Boqueres.
The Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter, as well as being one of the major national youth football competitions, opens the door to enjoy the tourist attractions of our province. A total of 3,500 players and 500 coaches will land along with their companions, completing a total of 10,000 overnight stays in hotels in Benicàssim, Orpesa, Castellón and Vila-real. A massive event that not only attracts travellers from all over the world to our territory, but will also have an economic impact of €2.5 million euros in the province of Castellón.
An indelible memory at the Estadio de la Cerámica
The competition will feature a grand opening party on Thursday 17th April from 7:30pm CEST at the Estadio de la Cerámica. On that day, the 228 participating teams will parade on the pitch and their players will receive a medal certifying their participation in this exciting competition. To round off the weekend, players and coaches will be given a short tour of the most exclusive corners of the yellow stadium.
In addition, those accompanying the players with an accredited wristband will receive a welcome pack and free entry to Inmersión Villarreal, the Yellow Submarine’s Museum & Tour experience, where they will learn about the history of the club and visit the most exclusive areas of the Estadio de la Cerámica.
The teams‘ supporters, made up mainly of the players’ companions, will have the opportunity to compete for the trophy for the best fan, a new award that will recognise the fan who cheers the most and best for their team from Thursday, the day of the presentation, until Saturday, including the day of the presentation.
