The Yellows Academy side are top of their league and have won every one of their games
A perfect start. The Mini B (U7s) are one of the standout sides of the start of the Yellows Academy season. The young side have won their first ten league matches, and are top of their league, with impressive stats: 118 goals scored and just four conceded.
Despite the excellent results that the Yellows side have put together, the team, coached by Bea Prades, Sergi Campos and Vicky Yarnold have other priorities. “We have a team with a lot of quality. The players compete very well against every opponent and each weekend we try and perform as best as possible. We’re top of the table and the boys are very happy, but in reality, that’s not what we’re worried about. The most important thing is for them to have fun while playing sport and that the learn to play football under the Villarreal CF methodology, which is very positive for their sporting and personal development,” says Prades, who as well as being a coach in the Yellows Academy, plays for the women’s first team.
On a personal level, the youngsters that make up the Mini B are a team who are completely united and consistently want to learn: “They’re very fun. We have a great group, they’re great team-mates and they really enjoy learning. They’re happy, have fun and they transmit those characteristics to us. But despite them being boys who like having a good time, they like being competitive.”
The inexperience of the young Yellows side is not an impediment to their learning process, in fact it is the opposite: “They’re like sponges. They absorb concepts that we give them quickly, both explications as well as corrections that we suggest from the coaching staff.”
Finally, Prades underlines that she values her first experience as a coach in the Yellows Academy: “It’s being a really enriching experience. I’m showing the boys everything I know, but we also learn a lot.”
The Mini B is made up of the following players and coaches:
COACHES: Bea Prades, Sergi Campos, Vicky Yarnold.
PLAYERS: Alejandro Gómez, Andrés Felipe González, Carlos García, Carlos Font de Mora, Eder Murria, Neizan Bernárdez, Nico Segarra, Pablo Rives, Pepe Porcar, Rubén López and Tudor Stefan.
