The Yellows side have become a family and the results underline that
The personal and footballing development of each one of their players is crucial for Villarreal CF. The club hopes to make the most of sporting potential, but without forgetting the main aim, which is to help form youngsters and show them the main values of the Yellows. Among the values promoted by the club are humility, empathy, and above all, friendship. In other words, that the players aren’t only team-mates, but friends too.
An example of the values that Villarreal CF wants to represent is one of the U8 teams, the Prebenjamín E. The team, coached by David Balaguer and Iris Dominguez, women’s first-team player, stands out for its good relationship between its players, who have a strong friendship. That’s a link that’s helped them on a sporting level, helping the coaches: “They’re good boys, very respectful and they always take things on board straight away. They’re not selfish and they help each other when they have to lean on each other,” explains Balaguer.
Immersed in a positive dynamic
Despite the good sporting moment that they are currently going through, it wasn’t all plain sailing for the team. Last season was tough for them, as they didn’t get a win throughout the entire year. That has dramatically changed this year, and the already have 21 points this year, which shows their notable improvement. “Last year, we didn’t get any wins, so the current run we’re on was unimaginable at the start of the season. The boys have shown that they have a good level and that we have a number of points in the first round of fixtures,” says a proud Balaguer.
The Yellows have two of the top goalscorers in their league, Jaume Espel, with 18 goals and Pepe Parra, with 20. That is something that has helped them get a number of points and win various matches, as their goalscoring is one of their strong points: “We use our boys’ talent a lot. When we win the ball back, we try and find our players higher up the pitch. Jaume and Pepe understand each other very well and that helps the team,” says the coach.
The Prebenjamín E hope to carry on playing well for the rest of the season. They will need to carry on training with the same enthusiasm as they showed during the first round of fixtures: “We want to carry on in the same line of these first few months of the season. We’re hoping that the boys continue working as hard as they have been so far and that they continue improving,” finalised the Yellows coach.
The team is made up of the following components:
Players: Ferran Trenco, Jaume Espel, Nizar Zahir, Marc Usó, Andrei Cristian, Joel Melchor, Pepe Parra, Héctor Llorens, Juan García, Ángel Gil.
Coaches: David Balaguer, Iris Domínguez.
