Fran Escribá highlighted the “great level” his side showed against Real Sporting
At the postmatch press conference, Villarreal CF Manager, Fran Escribá, highlighted the Submarine’s “great level” of play exhibited against Real Sporting: “We started well. We had chances and dominated most of the match. When they started to have more control of the game we scored our first. Then we scored again just after half time and this gave us some breathing space. The third goal sentenced the match”, the Yellows boss commented, also affirming that the final result could have been “more exaggerated”.
After Villarreal’s convincing win over Sporting, the Yellows Manager took advantage of the chance to praise his men: “We’re going into the the final stretch of the season playing good football and in good form. The whole team is on. This allows us to be able to make changes, as whoever plays always responds”, he asserted.
With the three points in the bag, Escribá is already thinking about FC Barcelona, Villarreal’s next opponent in the LaLiga Santander (Saturday, 6:30pm CET): “We have eight days to recover. Competing at the Camp Nou is not easy and even more so knowing what our opponents are playing for. Despite that, we will go out there to get a positive result just like we did at the Vicente Calderón stadium”, the Submarine boss concluded.
