The ‘groguet’ side deserved more against RCD Espanyol (1-2) and leave the prestigious U12s tournament with honour
The Submarine’s U12s side fell to RCD Espanyol (1-2) to end their participation in LaLiga Promises. Iván Molés and Hodei Martínez’s side were still alive on the scoreboard until the last minute, but were unable to come from behind.
The first half was exciting and evenly matched. The ‘groguets’ took the lead in the second minute with a long-range left-footed shot from Jairo Trujillo that went straight into the top corner. Two minutes later, the Perico side equalised through a counter-attack finished by Iván Latif.
With just a few minutes left on the clock, Espanyol got the winning goal from an individual effort by Iván Latif. The Submarine tried until the end, having the best chances during the match, but the equaliser was not forthcoming. Heads up ‘groguets’!
LaLiga Promises will continue tomorrow in Vila-real with the following semi-finals: Valencia-Betis and Espanyol-Barcelona.
