An intense match with strong winds finished in a goalless draw for Villarreal B
The Villarreal B team picked up a point on their visit to CD Ebro. The Yellows Reserves were solid at the back and came away with a draw, against the recently promoted side that have had a magnificent start to the season.
Reserves Manager, Paco López, changed the formation to make his team more solid. And it worked. López played with three defenders (Marcos Mauro, Pau and Juan ‘Ibiza’), two wide midfielders (Felipe and Peris), three centre midfielders (Anton Shvets, Larrea and Ramiro) and two forwards (Carlos Martínez and Carlos López).
The match was a hard fought one, with few chances on goal due to the strong wind. The best opportunities for the Yellows came from long range efforts by Carlos López, Carlos Martínez and Larrea, the first two of which were off target and the third was met by a fantastic save by the Ebro goalkeeper.
All in all, it was a hard earned point for the Villarreal B team in their pursuit to climb up the table. Their next match will be against Atlético Saguntino at the Mini Estadi this Saturday 12th November at 5pm CET.
