Real Madrid Castilla have still not lost at home, while Villarreal B want to remain unbeaten in Primera RFEF
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared in front of the media to analyse the upcoming match against Real Madrid Castilla, which will take place on Friday 29th October at 7pm CEST at the Alfredo Di Stéfano, corresponding to Matchday 10 of the Primera RFEF Footters season. Here is what Álvarez had to say:
Lozano’s injury
“He’s frustrated because it’s an injury that will keep him out from six weeks to two months. He’s working hard to return as strong as possible. As a team, we’re working hard for his absence not to affect us. He was a crucial player from set pieces and one of the best assist providers in the league. He was in a great moment of form. We will also miss him on a personal level.”
Opposition analysis
“It’s a great game to play in and to watch, like many are in the division, at a sensational stadium with two teams with a lot of talent and quality. We’re expecting a tough game. Castilla haven’t lost a single game at home. Their problem is that they’re not getting points away. It will be a tight game, at a high level. There will be times in the game when we won’t have the ball and we’ll need to defend, like last week. If we’re calm enough to know that we will cause problems when we have the ball, that will be important.”
Only three goals conceded
“That happens by having good team-mates. Andorra were much better than us in pre-season, and last week we reacted very well. That says a lot about how the team as growth, and what each one of my coaching staff does because everyone looks after their roles. They’re doing a phenomenal job and you can see that in the day-to-day work.”
Motivation to beat Villarreal B
“I’m sure they’ve got it. We also want to be the first team to beat Castilla at home. Baleares and the other teams who are at the top of the table are also teams to beat and as we haven’t lost, we are too. They will have the extra motivation to try and break our good run but we also don’t want them to break it.”
