Villarreal B got an extremely important win at the Nova Creu Alta, and stay top of Primera RFEF Group 2
Villarreal B got the three points against CE Sabadell (0-1). The match started with two sides looking for quick transitions, with no time to think, and two teams trying to cause danger from the opening moments. Sabadell were looking for their first win of the season in front of their fans, while the Submarine wanted to stay top of Primera RFEF Group 2 and continue their good form.
Sergio Lozano had the first chance after five minutes, with a shot from outside the box that was going inside the post, but Kike Royo managed to get something on the shot. Just a minute later, Iker Álvarez had to make a great stop at full stretch to deny Gabarre, who led the line for Sabadell. The Yellows’ next chances came from Juan Carlos Arana, but they were off target. With the halfway point of the first half passed, Lozano once more had another effort from outside the box, and once more Kike Royo deflected it out for a corner. With half-time approaching, Dani Tasende joined the attack and scored the opener, after a shot from the left that was impossible to save.
In the second half, there were not clear chances for either side and Villarreal B defended well without having too much pressure, although they did have to dig in, while Antonio Hidalgo’s side tried to counter effectively when they had opportunities to do so, but they were unsuccessful and Villarreal B won at the Nova Creu Alta. An importan win for Miguel Álvarez’s side, who strengthen their league at the top of the table. Villarreal B’s next match will be on Sunday 10th October at 5pm CEST against Sevilla Atlético at the Mini Estadi.
