Álvaro Alcaide, Daniel Sasha, Iker Martí and Marcos Aguilar have built a great friendship after a life defending the Villarreal colours
Inseparable. The U12 (Alevín A) players Álvaro Alcaide, Daniel Sasha, Iker Martí and Marcos Aguilar have formed a great friendship. Despite being only 11 years old, these four Yellow players have been sharing a passion together for four seasons: defending the Villarreal CF colours.
The relationship between the boys is maximal, and also very strong. Marcos Aguilar and Álvaro Alcaide are cousins and, if that wasn’t enough, they go to the same school, while Daniel Sasha and Iker Martí know each other from the Villarreal CF psychomotor programme.
Since the four joined the U8s (Prebenjamín A) in the 2015-16 season, they have shared a multitude of experiences both on and off the pitch. Among the top moments, the youngsters highlight their participation in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Miami, in which they travelled to the United States of America to compete against North American teams: “It was a spectacular trip. A unique experience to travel abroad and play against teams there. It helped us to learn and, in addition, we won the tournament,” says Álvaro Alcaide, captain of the Yellow side.
These promising Yellow players have become the backbone of an exciting team, that plays football well and is achieving great results. Now given their long career at the club, they are also important players in the U12 changing room, in which there is a good atmosphere and team spirit: “The atmosphere is the changing room is very good. We know each other very well. Although the four of us have been here a long time, most of us have been playing together for several years. The relationship between our teammates is perfect. We are a very united group. Off the pitch, we also organise meals and we see each other from time to time.”
This season the challenges have only just begun for the U12 boys, who will participate in an exciting LaLiga Promises tournament, in addition to its international version, which will take place in the United States: “We look forward to playing both tournaments. The level is high and it will be a challenge,” concludes the Yellow captain.
