Character and lots of heart. Jaume Costa produced a true exhibition of defensive solidity during yesterday’s clash with FC Salzburg (2-1). Starting at right-back, the left-back showed his versatility and commitment once again to the Yellows.
The Yellows No.21 won most of his defensive battles, as well as completing four tackles, two interceptions and three clearances. He rounded off the night with a pass completion rate of more than 91%.

Jaume Costa is now the ninth player to have played the most official matches for Villarreal in club history. After yesterday’s game, the Valencian defender overtook Javi Venta and reached 261 appearances as a Yellows player.
Since his debut in the 2011/12 campaign, Costa has represented Villarreal’s first team for a total of nine seasons.
