The final sprint that kicks off against RC Celta

Villarreal plays against the Galician team this Sunday at the Estadio de la Cerámica (4:15pm CEST)

Villarreal host RC Celta this Sunday at 4.15pm CEST, just three days after their 4-2 win over RCD Espanyol at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The Submarine will be looking for another win in front of their home fans to keep them firmly in the hunt for European places.

The Yellows are in fifth place with 50 points. Ahead, a final sprint of seven games and a maximum haul of 21 points. The first of the challenges will be against RC Celta, who sit in mid-table (13th with 39 points).

With the win against Espanyol, Villarreal put the setbacks against Real Valladolid and Sevilla behind them. They are now aiming to get back on the right track by laying the foundations in front of their home fans at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

The two sides have already met at Balaídos this season. The match ended in a draw (1-1) on Gameweek 17. Gerard Moreno gave the Submarine the lead with a superb goal and the home side equalised in the second half through Strand Larsen.

Last season, Villarreal beat RC Celta (1-0) at the Estadio de la Cerámica and drew (1-1) away.
