Villarreal CF has financed the reconstruction of the facility, which was devastated by the flooding in Valencia, in collaboration with ‘Alcem-se Esport’
Villarreal CF were present this Monday at the reopening of the Encrucijadas Municipal Field in Aldaia. The ground has been completely refurbished after being severely affected by the flooding, thanks to the donation of €2million made by the club to the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso’s ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme.
Villarreal ambassador Marcos Senna and first-team footballer Ayoze Pérez attended, on behalf of the Yellows, the emotional ceremony of the reopening of the football pitch, which was led by the mayor of the Valencian town, Guillermo Luján, and the director of the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso, Juan Miguel Gómez.
Third of the five pitches to be rebuilt thanks to Villarreal’s financial support
The Encrucijadas municipal pitch in Aldaia is the third of the five pitches refurbished with Villarreal CF’s donation after the facilities in La Torre and Beniparrell. Thanks to the decisive work and effective performance of the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso, the municipal football pitch in Catarroja and the Polideportivo Joan Girbés in Algemesí, both in the process of reconstruction, will return to normality in the coming weeks.
Alcem-se Esport
The ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme is the aid plan to help sports clubs affected by the floloding, promoted by Juan Roig’s sports patronage and channelled through the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket Club.
After the catastrophe brought about by the flooding at the end of October, more than 350 sports clubs from different sporting disciplines need help to return to normality. Villarreal CF decided to make a contribution of two million euros to the plan presented by the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket.
