Villarreal have started the second phase of the initiative and have started to collaborate with nearby hospitals and medical centres
Villarreal have put into place this week the second phase of the #CuentaConmigo (Count On Me) campaign, where the Submarine, in collaboration with the men’s first-team squad and the Fundación Carlos Bacca, contribute to try and lessen the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic among those most vulnerable and at risk of social exclusion.
As planned, the club has also started to offer its catering service for free to those who are in the frontline of the battle against the coronavirus as a way of thanking them for their hard work during these times of crisis, such as medical staff at the La Plana Hospital in Vila-real. The club will also carry out this activity with the Carinyena Health Centre (the only one in operation at the moment in Vila-real) and with the Centro de Tecnifiación Deportiva, which is currently being used as a support centre in the battle against the medical emergency.
The #CuentaConmigo campaign started last week with the daily preparation of more than 200 meals at the Estadio de la Cerámica for Cáritas Vila-real, which takes charge of handing them out among those who most need them, especially with the current pandemic.
Villarreal CF profoundly laments the current situation and asks its fans to act responsibly to avoid the propagation of COVID-19. The club is offering its help to medical authorities as much as possible to help join the fight against the coronavirus and wants to offer a profound thanks to all of those in the battle against it, from medical staff, to armed forces, the police and the civil guard.
