The goalkeeper from Murcia will play for the Submarine for the next four seasons
Villarreal CF has exercised the purchase option on Andrés Fernández who previously agreed to a loan spell at the Submarine from FC Porto. Thus, the goalkeeper from Murcia will wear Yellow for the next four seasons (until 2021).
Andrés Fernández came to the Yellows last summer and played a total of 20 matches between the LaLiga Santander (15) and UEFA Europa League (5) competitions, in six of which he kept a clean sheet.
Andrés Fernández started his career playing at Murcia and Tenerife, although his first professional team was Mallorca Reserves, and from there he went on to play for Osasuna B. After shining for the Pamplona Reserves, he moved on to SD Huesca in the 2010/11 season and on his return to Osasuna he established himself firmly in the first team and the First Division.
With the relegation of the reds, he signed for FC Porto in the 2014/15 season and then, in the summer of 2015, he went on loan to Granada CF, where he played the full 2015/16 campaign before arriving at Villarreal CF.
