

Villarreal B will play in the prestigious tournament for the third consecutive season
The Villarreal B team will defend their title as champions of the U23 Premier League International Cup. Paco López’s side will participate in the prestigious tournament for the third consecutive season with the challenge of repeating their spectacular performance last year, in which they were crowned champions after beating PSV Eindhoven 4-2 in the Final.
The objective of the U23 Premier League International Cup is to encourage and enrich youth football on British soil by providing a superior training experience with the inclusion of teams from the strongest European leagues. The Premier has chosen the best English teams and European clubs with a reserve team tradition to participate, among those is Villarreal CF.
On this occasion, the combined U23 Yellows team are in Group B of the competition together with Manchester United, Sparta Prague and Middlesbrough. The Villarreal B team will make their debut in this season’s ‘Premier’ in an exciting encounter against the Manchester United Reserves, to be played next Tuesday at Leigh Sports Village in Manchester (8pm). The Yellows expedition will set off on Monday.
The fixtures for the Yellows in Group B are the following (Spain time):
- Tuesday 13th September: Manchester United U23-Villarreal U23 (8pm, Leigh Sports Village).
- Tuesday 11th October: Middlesbrough U23-Villarreal U23 (8pm, Middlesbrough Venue TBC).
- Tuesday 13th December: Villarreal U23-Sparta Prague U23 (8pm, Neutral Venue TBC).
