Japanese footballer Take Kubo was presented this lunchtime as a new Villarreal player, in a ceremony at the Estadio de la Cerámica, officially unveiled by president Fernando Roig.
The Japanese footballer underlined his excitement at joining Villarreal, where he hopes to have a great season: “I’m very happy to be part of this team. Hopefully I can have a good season. I want to grow here and help that Villarreal to become an even bigger club.”
During his presentation, Take Kubo hailed the style of play of his new club: “They’re a team that have the ball a lot and dominate games a lot. I’ve suffered playing against them as an opponent and now I want to enjoy this style of playing as a footballer.”
The Japanese player underlined the high level of his team-mates: “Villarreal are a very big club with excellent players. I have to enjoy having competition, which makes everyone better. It’s a team sport and everyone will pull in the same direction.”
Roig: “Take is a young player with a lot of talent”
Villarreal president Fernando Roig welcome the Japanese midfielder and hailed his talents as a footballer: “He’s a young player with a lot of talent. At 19, he already has experience in Japanese football and Spanish football too. He’s a player that can offer us a lot and I’m sure he’ll help us to have a great season.”
