Sign your band up to this new competition, play at the Estadio de la Cerámica Fan Zone and stake your claim for participating at the Benicàssim SanSan Festival 2020
Do you have a band and you want to take part in one of the most important festivals in Spain? Villarreal CF and SanSan Festival have created ‘Groc Talent’, a new competition where up to ten bands from the province can play at the Estadio de la Cerámica Fan Zone during the build-up to league ties and therefore stake your claim to form part of the talented artists who will take to the 2020 SanSan Festival.
This project is part of the agreement that Villarreal CF has with SanSan Festival within the Endavant Cultura initiative, where the Submarine promotes distinct aspects of culture within the Castellón province.
How to take part in Groc Talent
To take part in this revolutionary contest, bands should fill in this form, whereby they need to write the name of the artist/group, a small biography, add a photo of the artist/group, a contact telephone number, an e-mail address, and add links (Spotify, SoundCloud, BandCamp or YouTube) to three of the groups’ songs, as well as a YouTube video so that the Yellows fans can judge the artist.
Sign-ups open on 1st October 2020 at 12am, and will close on 13th October 2020 at 11:59pm.
Bands or artists taking place need to be residents of the Castellón province and older than 16 years old, with at least one member 18 or older. Furthermore, the band needs to have a catalogue of at least 45 minutes worth of material and not have a recording contract. Finally, only music styles that fit the SanSan Festival (indie, pop, rock, alternative, etc) will be admitted.
Competition stages and voting
Once the sign-up period is over, the SanSan Festival organisers will study and value the entries and reveal the participating artists before Friday 18th October 2020.
The ten selected artists will perform at the Estadio de la Cerámica Fan Zone before each matchday. The performance days, subject to the official LaLiga schedule, will be communicated ten days prior. However, the expected days are as follows: 27th October, 3rd and 24th November, 8th and 22nd December, 19th January, 2nd and 16th February and 3rd March.
The Monday after every performance, from 12pm, the voting will open, which will last until the following Monday at the same time. Yellows fans can vote on the official website (www.villarrealcf.es/fans/groc-talent), rating the performance from 1 to 5 (with 1 being the lowest rating and 5 the highest.
Once the performances have taken place, the three groups with the most votes will go to the final. The calculation of the votes will be the public votes, those of Villarreal CF and those of the SanSan management.
The final, with date and location still to be confirmed, will take place between 16th and 22nd March 2020. A professional jury will decide the winner, who will take place in the 2020 SanSan Festival in Benicàssim.
