The Valencian striker scored the goal that gave the Yellows their first win in the top flight

Sheila Guijarro’s goals are a synonym of joy, points and wins for Villarreal Women. The Valencian striker started last season like he finished the previous one, based on goals.

Guijarro was the author of the only goal against SD Eibar (1-0), which gave the Yellows their first win in the top flight of Spanish football. The No.9 entered the pitch in the 51st minute and that was enough for her to decide the game with a subtle chip.

A key factor in promotion to Primera Iberdrola

Guijarro’s goals were one of the key reasons behind Villarreal Women’s promotion last season. The assassin in front of goal ended the season with 17 goals, which made her joint top scorer in the Reto Iberdrola.

She ended the season particularly prolific. In the last eight games, corresponding to the promotion stage of the Reto Iberdrola, she was on fire, getting seven goals. She took up the role of goalscorer for Sara Monforte’s side after the serious injury to the team’s other goalscorer, Salma Paralluelo (15 goals, 12 in the first phase).

Consolidate her goals in the top flight

Aged 24, Guijarro is in a great moment of her career. The attacker goes into the challenge of consolidating herself as one of the leading goalscorers in Spanish football. Under Monforte, she is playing at her best and she will try and continue growing alongside other talented attackers such as Aixa Salvador, Tere Morató and Salma Paralluelo.
