Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez underlines that the match against Ibiza will be one to enjoy

Villarreal B are now a Primera RFEF side, but they want more. Above all, they want to continue to have fun on the pitch. Miguel Álvarez’s side will play their final match of the first stage of the season this Sunday, against leaders Ibiza (12pm CET, Villarreal Live). “Our reflections are very positive, especially in personal growth and the team’s growth. We are going into the last game having achieved our main objective. We are extremely satisfied,” he commented.

For the Mini Submarine boss, the boys should savour this moment of the season: “We need to enjoy this moment. It is a game against an exceptional opponent. Ibiza have a tremendous squad and that has a lot of merit. It will be a nice game, a game to enjoy. Ibiza have resources to win any game. They are a very competitive side. Football is a game, and you need to enjoy it, both in attack and in defence. When you are able of enjoying the game as a time, it is easier to be closer to a win.”

Villarreal B will try and get promotion to Segunda División, but Álvarez wants to keep his feet on the ground: “I know where we can get to. We will work really hard to try and get our players into professional football. From there, let’s see where we get to. In the second stage of the season, we will come up against top-quality opponents. We need to enjoy the journey.”
