Unai Emery praised his side’s performance after beating Cádiz at La Cerámica
A proud manager. Villarreal CF head coach Unai Emery underlined that he was pleased with the job put in by his players in the hard-fought win over Cádiz at the Estadio de la Cerámica: “Satisfaction is the word. We have won two league games in a row. We needed to win at home and we did it against a side that makes you uncomfortable. The team knew how to compete and dig in during the closing moments. We wanted to trouble the opposition goal at the end, and the team worked very well. We are close to the European positions, and that helps us.”
For Emery, beating Cádiz was difficult, but it underlined the team’s commitment: “When you win and you suffer to win, it shows that it isn’t easy. Cádiz are a team that compete very well. I am happy with the performance because the three points were very important. We’re now feeling more positive with regards to the table. Now, it’s time to rest.”
