The Serbian says the team must “give everything from the start” to come back against Ponferradina
Villarreal CF’s Serbian defender, Antonio Rukavina, spoke before the media in today’s press conference and said that the Submarine are focused on “makeing a comeback in the cup tie” against SD Ponferradina (Thursday, 7:30pm CET). “We’ve already got our minds set on the Copa del Rey. We want to get through to the next round and go far in this competition. We didn’t play badly in the first leg, we created chances, but the ball just didn’t want to go in for us”.
The Yellows number 22 added that, despite losing to Sevilla FC on Sunday, the Yellow Submarine are on the right track: “We’re working hard. We’ve improved a lot on and off the ball. We’re a brave team, with character, who always go all out to win. The team dynamic is positive, we’ve qualified for the Europa League as top of our group and we’re positioned towards the top of the LaLiga table”.
Lastly, Rukavina stated that the team must “work hard” now as December is an intense month: “A tough month awaits us, with lots of matches. We must work hard to get good results”.
