The defender was once more a standout player for Real Valladolid, from left-back
Villarreal defender Rubén Peña was once more one of the standout players during the Real Valladolid game. Playing at left-back, the Yellows No.20 shone in defence and impressed in attack.
“I’m only trying to do the best for my team. I’m a player who tries to give everything on the pitch, I try and get minutes behind me and help the team,” explained the defender after the draw at the Estadio José Zorrilla (1-1).
Furthermore, Peña highlighted the Yellows’ great second half, which nearly saw them come away with the win: “We had very good feelings. We were much better in the second half. They sat back and we went for the three points. You have to say a point is a good result, because LaLiga is very tight this year and it’s hard to win away from home. Our opponents are very strong and they make us perform at our best level.”
Finally, the versatile player underlined the importance of winning the next league tie against Levante (Saturday, 6:30pm CET): “It’s a very important match. With the support of our fans, we need to go for the three points.”
