The young Portuguese footballer will play for Villarreal Women during the 2024/25 season
Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal for Rita Almeida, who will play for the Yellows during the 2024/25 season, as Villarreal Women take on the new challenge of the Primera RFEF.
An important signing in the middle of the pitch
Rita Pinto Almeida (23/08/2006, Samouco, Portugal) started her football career in the youth ranks of Samouquense, then joining Olúmpico Montijo before then ending up in the Sporting CP academy in the 2017/18 season. In the last two seasons, the midfielder has played for both the reserves and the first team, making her debut in the Liga BPI Femenina (the top division of women’s football in Portugal). In fact, she made a total of seven appearances in the top flight.
Almeida has represented Portugal at youth level on a total of 31 occasions, to date.
