Rubén Peña has won Alberto Contador’s bike in a charity auction for Red Cross
A reward for togetherness. Villarreal defender Rubén Peña was the winner of a charity auction organised by Alberto Contador, where the Spanish cyclist donated his bike, with the money raised going to Red Cross Response, a project orgnaised by the Red Cross in their fight against COVID-19 in Spain.
With hoping to help those who most need it, Peña has donated a considerable economic sum, as well as coming away with the bike on which the successful cyclist won the Giro d’Italia in 2011. A priceless collector’s item for cycling lovers.
As a fan of the sport and a great admirer of Contador, Peña wanted to give a gift to the cyclist, sending him a Villarreal shirt, alongside a special message. The cyclist sent him a signed maillot.
