The Villarreal B team get their third consecutive win and secure their place in the top half of the table
On a roll. The Villarreal B team picked up their third consecutive win in the league by taking down Atlético Levante, 2-0, in an even match that swung in the Yellows’ favour thanks to some Leo Suárez magic in the final minutes. The Argentinean attacking player, who came back to the team in the last match against Hércules, after being out with a lengthy injury to his right ankle, came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute and turned the game around. After coming on he played a spectacular through ball to Carlos Martínez for the B team’s first goal and participated in the decisive second moments later. Flawless. The Yellows Reserves put in a great performance and kept a clean sheet.
In the first half the best chances fell to the boots of Manu Viana for the visitors and Aitor Cantalapiedra, who tried his luck just before half time after great combination play with Edgar Ié.
The goals came after the break, or, better said, after Leo Suárez entered the field of play. The talented Argentinean came on in the 73rd minute and only four minutes later played a fantastic through ball to Carlos Martínez, who struck the ball under Sotres to open the scoring. Brilliant.
The Villarreal B team had done the hardest part, but they did not settle for one. Thus, their second did not take long to come. With 81 minutes on the clock, Leo Suárez split the Atlético Levante defence again, this time with a perfect pass to Franco Acosta, who sent in a driven cross from the right wing and Shaq, in his attempt to clear, hit the ball into his own net.
The Villarreal B team’s next rival will be Alcoyano, who will visit the Mini Estadi at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) on Sunday 4th December (12pm CET). This match will be broadcasted live on ‘Villarreal CF Live’ and the ‘Televisión de Castellón Mediterráneo’ channel.
