Villarreal will have 1,500 tickets for their fans to be able to attend the match against Chelsea FC
After various meetings that Villarreal CF has had in recent days in regards to the organisation of the Super Cup against Chelsea FC, which will take place on Wednesday 11th August at 9pm CEST at Windsor Park in Belfast (Northern Ireland), UEFA confirmed to the club this morning that it will be assigned 1,500 tickets for fans to attend this historic tie.
Due to the current entry restrictions to the United Kingdom due to the COVID-19 pandemic, local authorities have allowed fans who have not been fully vaccinated to travel the day of the match on bubble flights which will be organised by the club. When they arrive in Belfast, they will be taken to a fan zone which will be exclusively for Yellows fans, and then they will be taken to Windsor Park.
The club will also have other travel options for the game for those fans who are fully vaccinated, which is from 14 days after the second dose (or the first dose in the case of the Janssen vaccine), who will be able to move freely around the city. Regardless of vaccine status, all fans will have to present a negative PCR test up to 72 hours before arrival in Belfast.
Villarreal CF will also put tickets on sale for fans who are fully vaccinated and want to travel themselves. Those tickets are in three categories: 40 Euros, 80 Euros and 120 Euros.
In summary, these are the points for those interested in attending the historic game:
- All fans will need to present a negative PCR test to be able to travel to Northern Ireland apart from those under 11, regardless of their vaccination status. This will need to take place a maximum of 72 hours before the trip to Belfast.
- All fans will need to fill in the UK passenger locator form.
- Fans who are fully vaccinated, valid from 14 days of the second does (or the first dose with the Janssen vaccine), will have freedom of movement in Northern Ireland.
- Children under 18 will be able to move freely throughout the city, despite not being vaccinated, as long as they travel with adults who have been fully vaccinated.
- Fans who do not have their vaccination certificate will be able to travel on the day of the game in trips organised by the club, where they will be transferred to a fan zone, and then to Windsor Park.
- People who organise their own trips and will be in Belfast for more than two days, will need to undergo another PCR test on the second day of their arrival in Northern Ireland, regardless of their vaccination status. This should be organised before travelling.
- The club will organise distinct types of trips and will also sell match tickets for those who want to travel by themselves (with a vaccine certificate): The will be three ticket categories for the match: 40, 80 and 120 Euros.
Villarreal CF are still working on the organisation of the trip, and at the start of next week, will publish more information related to the distinct options for the trip, ticket sales and how each process will take place.
