Villarreal B remain unbeaten at the Mini Estadi after drawing against CD Tenerife

Miguel Álvarez’s men pulled off an epic performance to remain unbeaten at home after coming from behind to beat CD Tenerife 2-0. The game was very difficult, but thanks to a spectacular reaction and goals from Ontiveros and Collado, a very valuable point was achieved.

The Yellows went into this game with a positive feeling after their 1-0 win at Cartagonova in midweek thanks to a goal from Pacheco. The start of the game was all about the Tenerife side, who had a clear chance to score after just a few minutes following a cross from the wing. This slight dominance was consecrated with the first goal of the game after a harsh penalty by Dela. The penalty was scored by Elady.

As the game went on, Miguel Álvarez’s men reacted and began to control possession. The first chance for the home side came in the 25th minute after a great cross from Tasende was headed into the hands of the visiting goalkeeper by Collado. However, it was CD Tenerife who went into the changing rooms with the advantage.

The second half started in the same way as the first, with a goal for the visitors. Mellot was in charge of finishing off a cross that, after a VAR check, made it 0-2. The Yellow reserve team reacted a few minutes later and made it 1-2 after a penalty taken by Collado. Ontiveros adjusted his penalty perfectly and made it impossible for Juan Soriano.

With the score at 1-2, Miguel Álvarez’s men went in search of an equaliser. The domination was total, but without any clear chances. After a good combination on the edge of the box, the referee signalled a very dangerous free kick in favour of the Mini Submarine. Javi Ontiveros put in a perfect cross for Collado to head in and he made it 2-2 with an excellent finish.

In the closing stages, a determined Villarreal B looked for the win, but it was not enough. Despite not achieving the definitive comeback, this is a point that keeps the team in the mid-table with 28 points.

The Mini Submarine’s next match will take place on Saturday 17th December at 6.30pm CET at the Mini Estadi against UD Las Palmas.
