Sara Monforte’s side carried out their first pre-season training session this morning
Villarreal Women have now got going! Sara Monforte’s side started their pre-season training sessions at the PAMESA Cerámica Training Ground this morning. The players are now preparing for another season in Primera Iberdrola.
They have two months of preparation for the upcoming season, which is set to start on the weekend of 10th and 11th September. They will play a number of pre-season friendlies, which will be confirmed soon.
A total of 15 players from last season have stayed with Villarreal Women: Elena de Toro, Irene Miguélez, Yeni Giménez, María Cienfuegos, Sheila Guijarro, Nerea Pérez, Pancha Lara, Bea Prades, Tere Morató, Paola Soldevila, Belén Martínez, Ainoa Campo, Estefa Lima, Lara Mata and Carmen Carbonell. There have also been five new signings: Lucía Gómez, Cristina Cubedo, Rocío García, María Llompart and Fatou Kanteh.
At the momento, both Morató and Gómez will continue to work aside from the main group, as they are both recovering from ACL injuries. Yeni Giménez and Pancha Lara will join the group later as they are currently taking part in the Women’s Copa América with Venezuela and Chile respectively.
A number of youth players will also take part in the pre-season with a number of academy players: Vera Rico, Marta Querol, Alba López, Carla Gallego, Carla Robles, María Romero, Mar Imbergamo, Lucía Romero and Mar Imbergamo.
