The defender from Vila-real and John Collins fell in the final to Isak and Allie Long
Pau Torres ended the Kick COVID FIFA 20 tournament as runner-up, alongside team-mate John Collins, Atlanta Hawks basketball player. The defender from Vila-real went down into the final against the partnership made up of Real Sociedad player Alexander Isak and USWNT player Allie Long.
In the quarter-finals, the team led by Pau beat the Sevilla side made up of Munir El Haddadi and freestyler Lisa Zimouche. In the semi-finals, the Pau-Collins team beat Atlético Madrid, who were represented by Álvaro Morata and American football player Chad Ochocinco.
The international tournament, which saw participation from LaLiga, NBA, NFL and NWSL stars, LaLiga North America, Uninterrupted and the Women’s International Champions Cup, managed to raise $10,191 for the Feeding America non-governmental organisation. The funds will go to the fight against COVID-19.
Representing LaLiga, as well as Pau, the other players who took part were: Munir (Sevilla FC), Morata (Atlético de Madrid), Allan Nyom (Getafe CF), José Luis Gayá (Valencia CF), Borja Iglesias (Real Betis) and Isak (Real Sociedad). Former player Fernando Morientes, also took part, representing the top flight of Spanish football.
