The midfielder hailed the club’s sporting project and is looking forward to a great season under Unai Emery
Dani Parejo has been presented as a new Villarreal player this lunchtime at the Estadio de la Cerámica, accompanied by club president Fernando Roig. The ceremony was also attended by vice-president José Manuel Llaneza and CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles.
The midfielder spoke for the first time as a Yellow and hailed Villarreal’s sporting project: “Arriving at Villarreal is an exciting challenge. It’s a club that’s working very well and strengthening well. It’s the best place for me to be.”
The Spain international underlined his ambition and reams of a great season wearing yellow: “We want to have a great season and for Villarreal be playing in Europe again. We will also fight to go as far as possible in every competition.”
Despite being a new arrival at Villarreal, Parejo knows a lot of his new team-mates from other stages of his career: “It will help me adapt. I’ve coincided with a lot of them and I know a lot of them. I’ve also worked with Emery, who is a great coach who has managed some of the best teams in the world and has grown a lot.”
