The midfielder and forward both opened the scoring in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire’s wins
Villarreal’s international players have already played the first of their two games with their national teams.
The standout performances came from Nicolas Pepe and Pape Gueye. The Côte d’Ivoire national team, led by Pepe, defeated Sierra Leone 4-1 and the attacker scored the first of the goals. Meanwhile, Pape Gueye also opened the scoring in Senegal’s convincing 4-0 win over Malawi.
The Spanish national team achieved a narrow 1-0 victory over Denmark, with Martín Zubimendi scoring. Álex Baena came on in the 62nd minute, replacing Oyarzabal.
In addition, Ilias Akhomach came on in the 76th minute for Abde in Morocco’s 5-0 win over the Central African Republic, while Logan Costa started and played the whole match in Cape Verde’s 0-1 defeat against Botswana.
Finally, Iker Álvarez started and played 62 minutes in Andorra’s win against San Marino.
