The Villarreal B team Manager predicts an “attractive” match vs Alcoyano (Sunday, 12pm)
The Villarreal B team have won their last three games and are just one point away from the ‘play-off’ zone for promotion. This Sunday, the Yellows Reserves will host CD Alcoyano at the Mini Estadi (12pm CET, Villarreal CF Live and on the ‘Televisión de Castellón Mediterráneo’ channel). “We can’t relax now because every match is difficult to win. We have to have the same ambition. We want to keep going with the good work that we’re doing at home. To get these three points would be phenomenal for us, to put us firmly in the top zone of the table”, Paco López commented.
The Reserves Manager believes the clash will be an exciting one: “It’s an attractive match. Alcoyano are playing well. They’re towards the top of the table and have a manager whose teams are always competitive. It will be a great match”.
According to Paco López, the Mini Submarine must be concentrated for the full 90 minutes against the second-placed team in Group III of the Second Division B: “Sometimes football has its moments. One play can get you one point, three or none. We have to think about getting better individually and as a team day by day. We must always show our strengths. Alcoyano play with two banks of four and sit back. They really take advantage of set pieces and counterattacks. Most teams play like this at the Mini Estadi”.
To finish, the Manager emphasized the return of Leo Suárez to the team. The Argentinean footballer was key in the B team’s last win against Atlético Levante, playing a part in both goals. “Leo Suárez has come back from a lengthy injury and it will be great for him to get back to playing with us. He’s a quality player and his vision can win games. He’s getting his rhythm back bit by bit”, he concluded.
