The Villarreal head coach is disappointed with the defeat in the European opener and points out the need to be tougher
Villarreal CF head coach, José Rojo ‘Pacheta’, appeared before the media to analyse the Yellows’ 2-0 defeat against Panathinaikos: “We have to improve and fix certain things that we don’t do well. We have to improve the duels in attack and defence. We have to be tougher, take more shots on goal and get closer to the opposition’s box”.
The manager added that the team has work to do to improve: “Today’s game gives me information and we’re going to have everyone on board. We have to improve things and the players already know that. It will be a nice and interesting process because there is a will.”
Finally, Pacheta advocates turning the page after the defeat and thinking about the next matches: “We must forget the defeat, learn from our mistakes and face the next matches. We have a lot of players and they are very good. They are used to playing every three days and competing. Many of them have been champions of this competition. We have to work to improve.”
