The Castellón-born beach volleyball player bowed out of the Olympic stage after losing at the quarter-final stage against Norwegians Mol and Sorum
Pablo Herrera and Adrián Gavira were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the beach volleyball event by Norwegian duo Anders Mol and Christian Soerum. It was the Castellón-born athlete’s last appearance on the Olympics stage. His remarkable and extensive career has seen him win the silver medal with Javier Bosma in Athens 2008, and also take part in Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
The Endavant Esports athlete and his partner Gavira received a standing ovation throughout the arena, situated directly in front of the Eiffel Tower. The crowd showed their appreciation for the longest-running partnership in the history of beach volleyball, as the pair have been together for 15 seasons and taken part in four Olympic Gaes together.
