Villarreal have joined the fight to raise funds for the youngster from Vila-real, so she can undergo surgery for a complex heart condition
Everyone is with Zoe. Villarreal CF has decided to join the fight of the family of Zoe, a youngster from Vila-real, aged just 14 months, who was born with a complex heart condition. She suffers from Tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary atresia. Her parents, Abel Prieto and Laura Branchadell, need 172,000 Euros for the youngster to undergo surgery for the first time at Boston Children’s Hospital on 27th January. Two or three years later, there would be a second operation, which would cost 222,000 Euros.
The time limit to raise funds for the first operation is until 10th January, and the family have currently raised 50,000 Euros.
Villarreal CF will collaborate economically and will also be involved in a number of fundraising actions. The club’s involvement was unveiled this lunchtime at the Training Ground in a remote press conference, which was attended by the Prieto Branchadell family; Villarreal CF vice-president José Manuel Llaneza, men’s first-team manager Unai Emery, and the Yellows’ defender Pau Torres, who is also from Vila-real. You can watch the full press conference by clicking on the play logo at the top of the page.
Villarreal CF will undertake the following actions to help Zoe:
A shirt of support worn against Athletic Club
Villarreal CF players will take to the pitch tomorrow with shirts of support for Zoe, to give visibility to the cause ahead of the LaLiga match against Athletic Club at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
Auction of shirts used against Athletic and Levante
Villarreal CF will also donate the shirts worn by the players in the LaLiga games against Athletic Club (22nd December) and Levante UD (2nd January), which are the games that will take place at the Estadio de la Cerámica during the time limit to raise funds (until 10th January).
Selling charity advertisement at the Estadio de la Cerámica
Villarreal CF will soon unveil a second electronic advertising board in the ‘Preferencia’ stand at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The club will use it for the ‘Our Warrior Zoe’ cause. Anyone who donates 1,000 Euros, whether it be a person or a company, will appear for a minute in the advertising board during a game (1,000 Euros per minute).
