The young Mexican, born in Coatzacoalcos (Mexico), has been a Villarreal CF fan for ten years
Villarreal CF caught Osmin Rodríguez’s attention in the UEFA Cup semi-final in 2011 when the Yellows faced Porto. That game saw the young Mexican, from Coatzacoalcos, jump on board the Yellow Submarine: “I’ve been a fan since the second leg of the semi-finals against the Portuguese side in 2011, when the team gave everything to try and overturn the match at what was then called El Madrigal.”
Osmin, who currently works in Human Resources, underlines that it is the courage and hard work that makes Villarreal a special club that is different to others: “For me, Villarreal CF is dedication, love, passion, courage, and a badge that represents the best Spanish team.”
This ‘groguet’, who tries to follow as many games as possible from a distance, confesses that his current favourite player is Moi Gómez, but says he also has a soft spot for two other players from Yellows’ history: Alvaro González and Nilmar. He also recognizes that the club has given him great memories. Not only the UEFA Europa League win, but also the semi-finals against Liverpool and Porto in previous years. His love for Villarreal will surely continue for many years, and hopefully he will see more trophies lifted.
Here at Villarreal CF, through the series ‘Yellows Around The World’, we are telling the stories of some of the Submarine’s biggest international fans.
