Sara Monforte has analysed the upcoming match against Sevilla FC (Sunday, 12pm CET)

Villarreal Women head coach, Sara Monforte, appeared in front of the media at the pre-match press conference ahead of the match against Sevilla FC, corresponding to Gameweek 18 of the 2022/23 Finetwork Liga F season . The game will take place on Sunday 5th February, at 12pm, at the Estadio Jesús Navas. These are her thoughts:

Next up: Sevilla FC

“The team, after the win against Deportivo Alavés at the Mini Estadi, is in high spirits. We were finally able to enjoy getting three points here at home, which the fans also deserved, and to be able to have more peace of mind to work better during the week. The team is coming into this match against Sevilla FC in a great moment. We also have two new additions (Pilar García and Laura Rueda), who will bring a lot to the team both individually and as a group.

“Sevilla FC are a team with some very dangerous players up front, outstanding individual players, and they defend with a lot of numbers defensively. We’ll need to be at our best to be able to score there”.

The latest signing: Laura Rueda

“Laura is a player who understands space very well and who has a lot of experience in the French league, despite her age. She is also a very vertical player, with a good one-on-one game and a lot of quality with both feet.”

Next up in the cup: Real Madrid

“Real Madrid was probably the opponent that nobody wanted. Perhaps it was the most difficult, as they are in great form. We will do everything we can to get through.”

A tight table

“Now we have two very difficult games coming up, but I think we need to take points from them. It’s all very close and it’s very difficult to win in this league. We have to continue game by game, but hopefully we can string together two consecutive victories. Our teams are also characterised by getting better results in the second half of the season, which is where you can see progress.”
