

The Yellows third team beat Elche Ilicitano and remain undefeated in their first five matches
Villarreal C won again in what has been a spectacular start to the season in Group VI of the Third Division. This time, their victim was Elche Ilicitano, who made things difficult for Villarreal even though the Yellows managed to go 0-2 up in the first half. This result means Carlos Pérez Salvachúa’s side go another week at the top of the table. In fact, the Yellows third team have not lost a game yet, as they have won four and drew one at the start of the campaign.
The Yellows were simply brilliant in the first half. Andrei opened the scoring, taking advantage of an inside pass to fire a shot acorss goal and inside the far post (24th minute). Only ten minutes later the second came. Darío Poveda set up the Ukranian Álex, who just had pass the ball in.
In the second half Elche Ilicitano pressured hard, but Villarreal C held strong. The locals closed the gap with a goal from Montero, but they couldn’t get the equalizer.
The Villarreal C team’s next match will be on 18th September against CD Almazora at the Mini Estadi in the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) at 12pm CET.
