The team must release any negative thoughts before the match against Elche if they are to take all three points

Villarreal coach Marcelino Garcia Toral, said today that because of the success so far, the team is more than capable of recovering. But the best away is to get a win against Elche (morning, 2200 hours, Martinez Valero Stadium ). "The team must perform regardless of the result against Getafe, it is very important. Our last two away games have not been the level we wanted, especially the previous match. Of the eleven games we've played, we've had nine games we played well. The worst was our last away match against Athletic. We must try by all means return to being a competitive team on the road as we were in previous games. We know that if we play to the level we have become accustomed we will achieve that. We have to be competitive and avoid mistakes. We know that we will play tough opponents but if we play a very high level, we have a chance to win."

In addition, the coach admitted that there will be some changes because of the tremendous effort put in against Getafe. "Yes, there will be changes in the starting eleven. The other day the players but in a huge effort. It was brutal , and we have to decide what is best for the players because it was a very physically demanding game. The injury to Dorado was a major setback because we had such a solid defensive line. But we have other players who are more than capable to fill in. This will be their opportunity to demonstrate what they can do. There are two players that can play in that position. Pantic and Gabriel, and we will have to assess who can be the most effective against Elche. All players can play well for Villarreal, we have no doubt about that. It will be a hard decision especially in the case Gabriel or Pantic. They know that there is competition and we must be cautious, patient, and show our support for both."

Regarding the opponent , the Spaniard only had praise for Elche and their coach Fran Escribá. "It's a difficult game because the Elche are well-organized and have very clear ideas on how to play as a team. I believe it will be a tremendously difficult game and we will have to be at an extremely high level even more so than the last two away games. We have been praised and surprised many critics but we appreciate that. I think the team is doing really well and we are rising above expectations people expected of us. They are also are a good team. They made a lot of changes to their side and adapted well, perhaps more than us, but they are a straight forward team and know what they want. There set out a plan and keep to it and for that they deserve the utmost respect. It's a team that a clear ideology with a very good defensive organization with fast flowing football. In many ways, we are two similar teams."

Finally, the coach also spoke about the defeat against Getafe and the ability to adapt and overcome the fatigue of his players. " It hurts so much to lose as we did against Getafe. I think we played game to be extremely proud of. This is all down to the players. It is very difficult when things don't go your way.: not finding the goal, conceding a goal like we did , a red card and injuries. But these things happen and we need to overcome them if we are to compete for 90 minutes. Hopefully, that the tremendous effort we played with a ten man team will not affect us to much physically.
