The Villarreal B coach spoke to the media at the press conference ahead of matchday 37 of the Primera RFEF. The team coached by Miguel Álvarez will face RB Linense on Saturday at 8:30pm CEST at the Mini Estadi. This will be Villarreal B's last home game. The coach from Jaén has highlighted the demands of both teams and the strengths of an opponent with very experienced players in the league. Here is what the coach had to say:
Duel with demands for both teams
"It's a match between two teams who have a lot at stake. Our objective right now is second place, which is what depends on us, but we also want to be there in case the teams above us slip up. They are playing for the league, so it will be a very exciting game."
Focused on the moment
"The other day in Castellón we had the game in our hands at one point, but the boys have to know how to deal with that frustration. Castellón played very well. Now what counts and what is important is Linense. We were going for first place and we're going to fight until the end, but we have to focus on the current moment, which is Linense. There will be more or less of a prize, but there will be one."
"They are a very good team. There were times when they were fighting to get into the play-offs, but if you go on a bad run it's hard to get out of it. They have the squad to fight to be at the top, as do other teams, but in this league it's hard to win games. They have a lot of experience in the league and they have a lot at stake."
Going out to enjoy
"Now we have to forget about winning and focus on enjoying the games. When we enjoy ourselves and use our resources, we are closer to winning, which is what we want. When we focus on winning, we often forget to play. We must have a game plan and know our strengths and those of our opponents."
"One is the set-piece, which has given them 13 goals. Gerard Oliva is a very tall player who creates a lot of problems for you, but they also have very good midfielders with individuality in their 4-2-3-1."
