Target reached! The family of Zoe Prieto Branchadell, the youngster from Vila-real aged just 14 months, who was born with a complex heart condition, has managed to raise the money needed for an operation at Boston Children’s Hospital on 27th January. She suffers from Tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary atresia.
Villarreal CF joined the fight with a number of fundraising actions to help the family reach the 172,000 Euros needed, the cost of the operation in Boston. They have also now reached enough money to cover their stay in the US for as long as necessary.
As well as the actions organised by Villarreal CF, and the economic donations by players from the first team and board on a personal level, organisations and other companies who work with the club have collaborated economically, and they will appear on the second electronic advertising board, which will soon be launched in the ‘Preferencia’ stand at the Estadio de la Cerámica. Donations from fans have also been very important to raise the money needed. It was a triumph of everyone working together so young Zoë can recover and have a happy and healthy life.
Villarreal CF players, who helped the cause financially, were also an important part of the club’s fundraising efforts, with signed shirts being sold via the online store. Athletic Club and Levante UD also got involved, donating shirts signed by their players.
Zoe will undergo surgery in Boston on 27th January. Thanks to everyone!
