Villarreal CF will be one of the 38 teams taking part in eSports FIFA 21 this season

An exciting competition is back! Villarreal CF eSports will play in eLaLiga Santander, the official EA SPORTS FIFA 21 championship, organised thanks to the collaboration between LaLiga and Electronic Arts (EA). The competition is back for the fourth season in a row, with more ambition, excitement and talent than ever.

The Yellow Submarine will continue working alongside QLASH to face the most eagerly waited eSports competition in Spain. The Yellows will be represented by Rafael Riobó, also known as Ralfitita, who will continue to represent Villarreal CF after establishin himself as one of the best FIFA players in the country.

Alejando Hidalgo will be alongside him, with the 18-year-old promising FIFA player joining an exciting project.

eLaLiga Santander will start on 12th January 2021 and will be played over five exciting months. From January 2021, until May of the same year, eLaLiga Santander will put the professional players from each LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank clubs to the test.

A total of 38 clubs will be taking part, four more than last season. Every season more clubs join this excellent adventure.

From 26th October until 29th November, different eLaLiga clubs will have a select player during the Drafts campaign.

The season will start on 12th January 2021 and will last until May. During the season, on 3rd and 4th April, eLaLiga Santander will pause for the eLaLiga Santander Cup, where the top eight sides at that time will face each other, sharing 50,000 Euros in prize money.

After the break, on 13th and 14th April, the last matchday of the season will take place, where the 16 leading sides will take part in the Grand Final of the 2020/21 eLaLiga Santander where there will be just one winner.

This season, there will be 300,000 Euros in prize money:

  • 1st: €100,000
  • 2nd: €40,000
  • 3rd: €25,000
  • 4th: €17,500
  • 5th and 6th: €11,250
  • 7th and 8th: €7,500
  • From 9th to 12th: €5,000
  • From 13th to 16th: €2,500
