A proud manager. Villarreal head coach Javi Calleja hailed his players after their hard-fought win over Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez (1-3): "We knew how to get stuck in and work really hard to get the win. We put in a lot of effort and a lot of hard work. They're three really important points," he commented.
For Calleja, keeping a cool head was key: "We needed to be patient. When we put three passes together we could get to the opposition area. The best thing for me about the match was how we read it. We knew they were going to make it really difficult for us. Bit by bit, we grew into the game and we didn't gift them anything."
Finally, he hailed the substitutes' effect and praised the group's unity: "It was like a final and it was a really hard game against a direct rival. We had a really good game. We all dug in and thanks to that, we're where we are in the table."
