The #CuentaConmigo charity campaign, organised by Villarreal CF, has received the support from Vila-real Town Council, which has donated €40,000 to continue this ambitious scheme for two more months. The aim of the project is to guarantee food for those families with few resources and at risk of social exclusion in these extremely difficult times.
Thanks to the help from the local authority, the initiative, launched by the club with collaboration from the first team and the Fundación Carlos Bacca when the State of Emergency was announced in Spain, will continue to help the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on those most at need.
Villarreal CF has increased the number of daily meals by three
Since Villarreal opened the Estadio de la Cerámica kitchens nearly two months ago, the #CuentaComingo campaign has grown strongly. In its first week, the club prepared and provided 200 daily meals, which has slowly progressed to 600 a day. In the four months that the #CuentaConmigo campaign will be running for, the club will provide a total of 60,000 meals.
Through the #CuentaConmigo campaign, the club club will work with charity organisations such as Cáritas, Red Cross, Juventud Antoniana and San Vicente de Paúl, as well as providing meals for other groups such as medical professionals, armed forces and police forces.
