A fruitful bond for the Endavant Formació initiative. The 'Cátedra Villarreal CF del Deporte' at the Jaume I University in Castellón has promoted nearly twenty actions during 2019 linked to sports activities aimed at the university community and society in general.These activities have been carried out in three parts: growth and employment, investigation and communication and corporate reputation.
The 2019 activity report was presented today, Wednesday 26th February 2020, at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) which was attended by José Manuel Llaneza, Villarreal CF vice-president; Tino Traver, director of Villarreal CF Institutional Relations; Federico Alcácer, general director of Organisation and Management of the club; Isabel García, vice chancellor for Studies and Teaching of the UJI, and the Cátedra Villarreal CF del Deporte director, Carlos Hernando, among others.
In the first section, growth and employment, for the eighth consecutive year the Chair has allocated €30,000 for 42 athletes enrolled in the UJI in 13 different modalities and in 17 degrees. Among them are Alexis Sastre, Osarumen Odeh, Pablo Torrijos and Laura Odeni, university medallists in athletics.
Among the training activities developed, the itinerant training exhibition by the various UJI centres was highlighted on the 20th anniversary of the Elite Athletes Programme. In addition, Villarreal CF has welcomed ten students in UJI curricular practice degrees and the 'Catédra' has tutored Villarreal CF players who study at the university.
In the investigation part of the programme, the 'Catédra' has taken part in the physical activity programme for health from the point of view of the running race that contributes to the improvement of the physical condition of the university community and the citizens of Castellón and has also supported the disclosure of the scientific results from the Penyagolosa Trail Healthy Women project. Likewise, it has collaborated in research focused on the psychological functioning of the University Sports Autonomous Championship athletes, as well as the analysis of gender stereotypes in the choice of university studies and psychological functioning in sports practice.
Finally, in the area of communication and corporate reputation, this year the Chair has organised the ceremony for the elite UJI athletes where 59 university athletes have been honoured. He has also participated in the Sports Festival in which the awards of the internal competitions and the “Villarreal CF-UJI” scholarships have been presented.

In addition, the sale of Villarreal CF match tickets has continued, and it has boosted the second edition of the UJI inter-centre tournament, as well as promoting the disclosure of university sports at the University Sports Autonomous Championship, the University of Spain Championships, and on the 20th anniversary of the Elite Athletes Programme.
In this area, the 'Cátedra' has also carried out actions for inclusion in the Spanish University Football Championships, with the Down Syndrome Association, and the UJI has collaborated in the Villarreal CF Endavant Gala in Paranimf. Likewise, the radio programme, Villarreal CF Radio, is broadcasted twice a week on the Vox UJI Radio and Villarreal CF advertising for the university community is carried out.
